after yet another long staff meeting, a group of the staff decided to go out. not venturing out of fountain park, we went over to the bowling alley.
bowling in scotland was a bit different. not that i'm at all some sort of great bowler. but generally i feel as though everyone makes some attempt at trying to do well. plus, they were able to put the bumpers on and off throughout the game- actually during each throw. and all but the guy who used to work at the bowling alley wanted the bumpers. and no one even watched their ball go down the lane it seemed.
so that was interesting. but i hadn't bowled since last august, so it was fun.
then there was an attempt to leave fountainpark to go to a pub. but we got as far as outside the door and to the next and then it was into the casino. where you have to be a member, so now i'm a card holding member. sadly. the casino is a big dark room and i had no intention of gambling. most of the group had a drink while a few lost a bunch of money. not really my idea of a great evening out.
i did go meet gareth and ameer since they were out but not with the rest of the employees. that was fun for awhile - should have skipped the casino and met with them earlier.
