taking the train is nice and i even got a bagel at the train station before leaving. spent the 1.5 hours doing work on my computer which was productive.
even though i had only been to newcastle with brittany for about half a day, it was interesting that i knew where i was and the layout of the bit of the town. i walked from the train station past the castle keep and across one of the bridges over to the hotel where alison was staying to meet her.
she went to a conference session and i went to the art museum. found some great graffiti art on the way.
at the museum, there was only one exhibit, but two galleries full of videos and sculptures. the video slideshow montages were interesting, but i found the sculptures even better. They were moving very slowly to the point you questioned the movement. very good.
got to see the millennium bridge raise and lower as well.
met alison at lunch time back at the conference centre.
we went to see the castle keep and then had lunch.
she went back to the conference and i found my way over to a museum about the history of the tyneside towns. good museum, but would have been a bit more fun if someone was with me.
got a bunch more work done in the evening as well. a beautiful sunset out the hotel window to go with my takeaway chinese dinner. all in all a good day in newcastle.
