with the whole monkey bizness issue, job searching became more of a thing. i had applied to an after school group position before we found out we weren't going to get our pay and before we found out monkey bizness was for sale. but when i went for the interview, i actually cared a lot more about it as a potential job. being way more qualified than necessary for the job but limited by my student visa work limits, i was still offered the playworker position (couldn't be manager with the visa).
so i accepted the job offer with the stipulation that i would work 4 days a week and not 5. which the boss guy is fine with meaning i gave my notice at monkey bizness to be done at the end of the week ending the 21st of august.
and it meant that when i got back monday morning from the coach that i'd have to go to an orientation meeting.
15 august
monday.
so i'm now a part of the buckstone after school club staff. 6 people including me for around 40 or so kids. not a bad ratio at all. it's a bus ride away in the buckstone/morningside community. club is at a church that's a short walk from the primary school where we pick up the kids. the orientation wasn't much of anything which made me a little bit concerned for the first day, but i think that was just from my experience from teaching.
